Silence

I hear the sound of silence,

echoing through my mind.

The still small voices inside my head,

screaming louder than my thoughts.

Noise all around me,

getting louder note by note.

Piercing through like a thunder bolt,

breaking the barriers of my mind.

Was it today?

Fading memories

Of milestone days

Erratic emotions

Lessen their grip

Replaced by calm

A hollow place

Occupies the heart

I try to hold on

Time takes over

The mind jumbled

Obscure glimpses

Of past occurrences

Did it happen?

Was it my imagination?

Is it today?

Capturing the essence of you

You intoxicated me

And birds

There is no hope

Follows us like a shadow

If he is merciful

It will be quick

A long suffering

If his humour kicks in

Does energy reignite our souls

Taking us back in time

To disengage our minds 

Engaging yet again but,

In another realm of being

Unifies with the earth’s rhythm 

A sigh of relief, calm, serene

Free falling in peaceful bliss

Is this the end?

We challenged the earth

Mother Nature cornered 

In despair, weeping 

Stop she said, enough

But we kept on,

Ignoring her pleas 

Turning on ourselves 

Dominance and power

No mercy for the weak

Anger, rampant 

Hunger for survival

A world gone mad

And now, here we are

Locked up inside

Fear and panic grips us

Money, status, meaningless

In the eye of this storm

We are all powerless

and deepest fears?

your soul to me?
and, let me in
to that space
no one has ever been?
Is it possible
to love
beyond the surface
And, crave a bond
from deep within?
Will you let go

to feel real,
