Why does the world sit back
and watch
as millions of lives are lost?
Why are madmen
allowed to run amok,
while the rest of us
count the dead?
Who takes responsibility
for peace?
When will we learn
that every life has value,
no matter the colour,
country,
faith
or name?
What right do we have
to take a life?
To condemn entire nations
to poverty and strife?
Is one race superior
to another?
Does power make one life
worth more than the next?
And do those responsible
truly believe
they will never have
to atone?
Life is precious.
Yet greed keeps demanding more,
and humanity
keeps paying the price.
Enough has been taken.
Enough has been lost.
Let the world live.
Just end it.
