Shadows fall

Have you ever thought
about this life
the one we live in?
We float through
each day
not realizing how,
life’s effects on us
every moment,
every experience,
adds a new perspective.
And we evolve.
From day to day,
living each moment
not understanding
not thinking about,
how each action
affects the greater us,
hidden, like shadow
inside of us.

I hold on to us

wrapped in the aura
of each other
I smile at the thought
of where we are
in this space

amidst the chaos
that closes in around us

I find peace
and contentment
