Silence

I hear the sound of silence,

echoing through my mind.

The still small voices inside my head,

screaming louder than my thoughts.

Noise all around me,

getting louder note by note.

Piercing through like a thunder bolt,

breaking the barriers of my mind.

Was it today?

Fading memories

Of milestone days

Erratic emotions

Lessen their grip

Replaced by calm

A hollow place

Occupies the heart

I try to hold on

Time takes over

The mind jumbled

Obscure glimpses

Of past occurrences

Did it happen?

Was it my imagination?

Is it today? 

I wonder….
